King of The South

 King of The South

I’ve heard many names throw around when discussing the king of the South but none more than a few heavy contenders such as T. I. Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, Young Jeezy and last but not least J. Cole nowadays.

In my previous blog I briefly spoke the influence that Lil Wayne has had on the culture let alone the music industry in hip hop and it is a very heavy buzz t say the least. He is now known for not writing his rhymes down but simply memorizing them or frees styling in the studio which is no small feet.

T. I. is a world renown artists as well. He continuously refers to himself as the King of the South with little hesitation and for good reason. He definitely dominated the music industry just as well as the other. Heavy hitters on this list. He topped charts and pumped out classics for at least a decade and even found time to raise a large family on cable television in a successful reality tv show.

Young Jeezy has been a household name in the rap industry since the early 2000’s branding the “Snowman” as his nickname gaining him huge clout and respect in the toughest of neighborhoods as not only a big time rapper but also a more than financial secure drug dealer. It seems the his music spoke for so many people that claim to live the same lifestyle to the point that he not only was the voice for the South but the voice of many cross the country with similar lifestyles.

Andre 3000 would have to be my favorite and king worthy of the crown because he truly helped create a voice for the south in the rap community when only the New Yorkers and Californians had the respect and ears of the public. He was and still is a pioneer for the art from the South.

J. Cole seems to wear the crown in the present moment! His creative artistic lyrics and swagger that everyone loves and adore so much derives from all of the previous artist described in this blog! Long Live The King!
